Now Hiring: Equipment Operator III (Full-Time)
The Town of Berne is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Equipment Operator III within the Highway Department at 1811 Helderberg Trail Berne NY 12023
Position Details:
- Status: Full-Time (40 hours/week)
- Hourly Rate: $26.79
- Union: UPSEU
- Benefits: Full benefits package including health insurance, retirement, paid leave accruals, and other negotiated union benefits
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required
- Experience operating heavy equipment (e.g., plow trucks, loaders, graders, etc.)
- Ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions
- Knowledge of road maintenance, snow removal, and general highway department operations preferred
Responsibilities Include:
- Operation of heavy and light highway equipment
- Snow and ice removal
- Road maintenance, repair, and construction activities
- Routine equipment inspection and maintenance
- Other duties as assigned by the Highway Superintendent
